About Sandra M. Moore
With 35 years of professional experience in colleges and schools, Sandra M. Moore is a seasoned educator with a passion for helping young people discover the “right” college match.
The founder and principal of Next Step College Counseling, Sandra began her career as a residence counselor at Bennett College in Millbrook, NY, and has served as assistant, associate and acting director of admissions at Sarah Lawrence College (Bronxville, NY), the director of admissions at Eugene Lang College of the New School (New York, NY) and the director of admissions and financial aid at The Masters School (Dobbs Ferry, NY) and Poughkeepsie Day School (Poughkeepsie, NY).
She regularly meets with college admission officers from around the country and visits a variety of campuses to get a first-hand sense of their offerings. And she offers pro bono informational seminars for parents and students at local libraries and other venues to share her knowledge and experiences.
A cum laude graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Sandra received a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University and is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC). She regularly participates in professional development workshops and conferences, including those sponsored by NACAC and the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), of which she is an associate member.
