Sandra M. Moore is a life-long educator with a passion for helping young people discover and gain admission to best-fit colleges and universities. The founder of Next Step College Counseling, Sandra began her career as a college residence counselor and has served as an admission officer and acting director of admissions at Sarah Lawrence College, the director of admissions at Eugene Lang College of the New School and the director of admissions and financial aid at The Masters School and Poughkeepsie Day School, where she also served as a member of the college counseling team for many years.

Sandra regularly meets with college admission officers from around the country and visits campuses to get a first-hand sense of their offerings. And she’s available to give pro bono informational seminars for parents and students at local libraries and other venues to share her knowledge and experiences.
     A cum laude graduate of Mount Holyoke College, with a major in English literature, Sandra received a master’s degree in higher and adult education from Teachers College, Columbia University and is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). In that capacity, she was invited to join the College Committee's subcommittee on affordability and, in turn, has written articles on this important topic for the association's newsletter, Insights; co-authored an IECA info-graph and served as a national conference presenter. Sandra also belongs to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC).
     In her spare time, Sandra enjoys running, swimming laps and tending to her magnificent flower gardens and adoring 22- year-old cat, Sadie. Her two grown sons, Jake and Luke, are professional artists living and working in Philadelphia and Brooklyn, respectively.
